Kurzdarstellung

Das Institut für Energie und Kreislaufwirtschaft an der Hochschule Bremen GmbH (IEKrW) ist ein Forschungs-Institut an der Hochschule Bremen und dient das Institut dem Transfer zwischen Wirtschaft und Wissenschaft. Ziel des Instituts ist die Entwicklung von ökologisch und ökonomisch sinnvollen Lösungskonzepten für die Energie- und Kreislaufwirtschaft, das produzierende Gewerbe sowie für Dienstleistungsunternehmen. Die vornehmliche Aufgabe des Instituts ist die Entwicklung und Bewertung von Verfahren zur Erzeugung regenerativer Energie, der Verwertung und Kreislaufführung von Stoffen, der effizienteren Nutzung von Rohstoffen sowie die Reinigung von Wässern, Schlämmen, Feststoffen und Abluft. Das Institut erarbeitet Gutachten, führt ökobilanzielle Untersuchungen (u.a. Carbon Footprint von Unternehmen sowie von Anlagen, Produkten und Prozessen) durch und berät Unternehmen, Verbände und öffentlichrechtliche Körperschaften. Im Bereich der Kreislaufwirtschaft und des Umweltschutzes führt das Institut Weiterbildungsmaßnahmen durch und organisiert Tagungen. Viele der Projekte wurden und werden in Kooperation mit Unternehmen, Universitäten und Hochschulen aus dem gesamten Bundesgebiet durchgeführt. Über internationale Projekte bestehen Kontakte zu Partnern im europäischen und außereuropäischen Raum.

The Institut für Energie und Kreislaufwirtschaft an der Hochschule Bremen GmbH (Institute for Energy, Recycling and Environmental Protection at Bremen University of Applied Sciences - IEKrW) is a research institute at City University of Applied Sciences and serves the transfer between business and science. The aim of the institute is to develop ecologically and economically sensible solution concepts for the energy and circular economy, the manufacturing industry and service companies. The primary task of the institute is the development and evaluation of processes for the generation of regenerative energy, the recycling and cycle management of substances, the efficient use of raw materials as well as the purification of waters, sludge, solid waste and exhaust air. The institute creates expert reports, carries out LCA studies (including carbon footprint of companies as well as plants, products and processes) and acts as a consultant to companies, associations and public corporations. In the field of recycling and environmental protection the institute carries out measures for further education and organizes conferences. Many of the projects were, and are, carried out in cooperation with companies, universities and colleges throughout the Federal Republic of Germany. Contacts exist to partners in both European and non-European countries through international projects.
